The Cyclist:

What makes a cyclist? Hint: Look in the mirror.
Welcome friends to "The Cyclist" page of Get-Into-Cycling.com. Have you ever wondered what makes a "cyclist?" Do they wear the funky colored jerseys and tight shorts? Do you have to own that wazoo $4000 Italian racing machine? What about the crazy full face helmet with body armor? According to the dictionary, a cyclist is defined as a person who rides a bicycle. Regardless of what you have heard, if you own and ride a bicycle, you are a cyclist. So, look in the mirror!
Truth is, if you like to ride a bike, you're one already. Contrary to what the so-called "elitist" and "bike-experts" would say, all you need is a desire and a bike. And viola! You're a cyclist. (The elitist and bike-experts won't admit to it, but there's a 90% chance that they started out just like you.......unless they're filthy rich, or course, and can afford to buy all the bells and whistles right off the bat!)
But to get the most out of bicycling, it wouldn't hurt to get a few essential items to make your riding more comfortable and safer. In this page we will cover the different items available to enhance your riding. But like they say, "no purchase necessary to enter!" So just start riding. If you feel you need to get the neon yellow jersey, then get it. But if not, don't worry about it. CYCLING IS ABOUT FUN AND HEALTH, NOT IMAGE!!!!!
