Rancho Cucamonga, California
Welcome friends to the "Local Routes" section of Get-Into-Cycling.com. In this page we'll take a brief glimpse at a local route that parallels the Cucamonga Creek Channel. The route starts at Foothill Blvd. and heads north towards the hills in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
(As of 07/25/10, we have added some new photos and updates so go ahead and read on!)
The photos shown are only a small segment of the trail between Foothill Blvd. and Baseline Street.
In the photo below, the arch bridge seen in the background is part of the right-of-way of the Pacific Electric Trail that extends from the border of Claremont and Montclair, CA. to Rialto, CA.
A new and improved connector to the Pacific Electric Trail has been added as seen by the photo below.
There are plans to extend this trail all the way south to Ontario and further north into the mountains.
For more information, here is a 2001 press release from the County of San Bernardino that you can check out.
Plus, check out the City of Ontario's Parks and Maintenance website page for more photos and info about this trail.
We will provide more information as they develope about this up and coming trail. So, stay tuned!
