1992: Full suspension bicycles are gaining popularity.
1993: Schwinn files for bankruptcy.
1994: SRAM introduces power disc brakes. The first mass-produced disc brake.
1996: Cross-country mountain bicycling is added to the Olympic Games.
1998: Schwinn Sting Ray bicycle is re-introduced.
1999-2005: Lance Armstrong
wins the Tour de France making him the second American to accomplish this feat.
2000: Triathlon added as an Olympic category.
2001: Pacific Cycles incorporates and acquires Schwinn Co.
2002: 10 speed cog introduced by Campagnolo.
2005: Amgen Tour of California becomes premier U.S. stage race. Lance Armstrong retires from professional cycling after dominating the Tour de France for 7 straight years!
2009: Lance Armstrong comes out of retirement and returns to the pro cycling scene.
